ZEN was selected as one of the finalists of the first national edition of the Kaizen Lean Award in the category "Excellence in Continuous Improvement System", promoted by the Kaizen Institute Brazil, organization with world reference in Lean methodology.

In order to share best practices and acknowledge organizations that are examples of excellence in process improvement, the Institute has selected ZEN as one of the companies that best encourages leadership and motivates teams to constantly seek continuous improvement.

"We needed to implement the concept by promoting change in culture. Therefore, there was a process of development and education of employees that started with leadership positions and extended to the factory floor, "explains Daniel Lorenzon dos Santos, analyst of Continuous Improvement. According to him, ZEN's differential was precisely to implement a project of alignment and strategic unfolding, and that was based on the cultural change aligned to the Lean thought.

This process was essential for analyzing the company structure, determining the elements that needed to be improved to implement the Lean Philosophy, and establishing the appropriate plans for its consolidation.

In the last 3 years, ZEN has achieved remarkable achievements in its performance indicators resulting from this continuous improvement system, such as: 50% reduction of costs related to quality problems with intense performance in the production and administrative processes, reaching 95% of the Customer Satisfaction Index, a 30% increase in productivity.

According to Eduardo Bertolini, Industrial Director of ZEN, the results achieved with the Lean Philosophy allowed ZEN to reach a new level in terms of competitiveness. "Continuous improvement processes allow us to keep up with the new market demands with speed and flexibility, guaranteeing superior delivery to customers and shareholders," he says.
